I am just passionate enough to collect cultural masks from ancient days. Almost all of them have several primary purposes. It is unfortunate that the civilized world has forgotten the ethics of such cultural masks. Many people love to collect the masks just because of the hobby but the masks possess a huge value in almost every sphere of the culture. In the ancient days the mask was used for the ritual dances just because of some unique get up. They all are performed with a very important aspect with its religious and the social atmosphere of the ancestor’s culture. Specifically the masks contain a huge understanding with its origin and reasons of such significance exploring various religions.
Africa has been the favorite place for many mask collectors and I am also a part of it. This is the continent in the whole world with a very rich and enlarged culture for its huge variety in terms of area and tribes. This is the home of a number of ancient tribes and almost all of them possess some kind of specialty in their mask culture. Ritual dancing is the sole existence for African culture and mask is definitely an important part of the whole factor. Masks were used in various ancestral, ceremonial, religion, tradition, and secret societies, which still play a vital role for this continent. Even for the recent era as well this continent prefers to highlight their rituals by using several masks.
After verifying various resources to enrich my collection I fixed my attention on sadigh gallery. This is the hub of a huge mask collection and more interesting they upgrade their collection on a regular basis. This gallery is the sole responsible for my personal collection as far as the African masks are concerned.
